This weekly course offering is for individuals who desire a broad understanding of the human figure and wish to embrace the challenges of drawing from a nude model. Students will learn to analyze the structure of the human form and learn various approaches to render the human body under a broader emphasis toward developing individuality and expression in their work. Class drawing sessions will vary between timed poses, one-source lighting, and longer multi-session poses with props. Emphasis will be placed on developing line and form vocabulary and sharpening observation skills. Using charcoal and pastel, students will explore the elements of a successful drawing in a supportive, closely led environment. This course is suitable for individuals of all experience levels, and beginners are most welcome.
