Have you always wanted to draw with ink but wondered where to start? In this class we will explore a variety of ink-based mediums including micron pen, dip pen, scratchboard, brush pen, and Sumi. We will draw from both life and imagination, and learn how to use line weight and hatching techniques to convey form and texture. After learning the properties of different types of ink drawing, we will combine them to achieve new effects. We will also learn about the history of different mediums and styles while looking to artists from the past for inspiration, and will use concepts of composition to create compelling drawings. Previous drawing experience preferred.
